Huze* also acts as supporting organisation for international Youthprograms such as the “Youth in Action” program.

Many of you might have already met us, and who hasn’t should  definitely come over here somewhat more often to hang out with us, but nevertheless we want to use the opportunity of this website to intruduce ourselves a bit!

We are both here in terms of the European Voluntary Service (EVS), which gives young people the opportunity to get in touch with another culture for 6-12 months, while working for a public organization like a hospital, a school, a kindergarden a homeless shelter or like in our case in a youth center. Obviously we have chosen Norway as the destination we wanted to live in, before applying for a lot of projects up here. Luckily Huze* seemed to like us and gave us the great opportunity to work here.

To get a bit more in detail let’s shortly talk about the two of us:

So I am Tom. I’m 19 years old and coming from the nice city “Jena”, quite near to the middle of our country! It has about 100.000 inhabitants and is known for many optical companies like “Carl Zeiss” as well as its old University. I’ve attended to Montessori School for quite some time,before doing my “Abitur” degree on an average German high-school in June 2011.

I’ve always been sure to go for further education in the direction of physics or engineering. But in the last months of school I got more and more confused, if I really want to do things like that my whole life long. In addition I thought that a break in the circle of education might be an awesome thing to have. So I decided to go abroad, which lead me pretty fast to the EVS. I wrote a lot of applications for projects in Portugal, Sweden and of course Norway and I was finally accepted by Huze*.
